Before we dive into creatively tasty Chicken Frank Recipes. We need to show homage to the classic Chicken Frank itself! To cook this BBQ Classic you can pan fry, grill, place in the oven, and dare we say it, even microwaving.

Simple Recipe/Instructions

Grilling gives your hot dog that smoky, summer flavor you just can’t get any other way.

1. Turn on your grill. You want one side of your grill to be hotter and one more cool. If you have a charcoal grill, stack more coals on one side. If you have a gas grill, adjust the knob settings accordingly.

2. Cook the Chicken Franks on the cooler side of the grill so that they can heat through without burning on the outside. You’re looking for that perfect brownish-red color.

3. Add your favorite toppings!

5. Chicken Frank Corn Dogs

Honey-battered, hand-dipped Corn Dogs are a real treat. Create this carnival classic right from home with your children! This recipe will for sure make lasting memories with the fam.

- Cornstarch, for dusting chicken franks

- 1 cup yellow cornmeal

- 1 cup of all-purpose flour

- 1 tbsp. granulated sugar

- 2 tsp. baking powder

- 1 1/2 tsp. salt

- 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper

- 1 cup + 2 tbsp. whole milk

- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

- 2 tbsp. honey

- 1 large egg

- Vegetable oil, for frying

Make sure you pat down each hot dog with a paper towel to ensure they are dry. Then thread each hot dog into a 6-8inch Skewer leaving some room for the hand to hold.

Whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and red pepper in a medium bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, vegetable oil, honey, and egg. Add the milk mixture to the cornmeal mixture and whisk until smooth. Let stand at least 5 minutes.

After adding oil to the pot and bringing it to boil while the oil heats up, transfer the batter to a tall glass that is taller than the hot dogs. Working with one hot dog at a time, dip the hot dog into the batter, twisting it to coat it completely with the batter. While still twisting, remove the hot dog from the batter and lower it diagonally in the hot oil, twirling it by the stick for 5 seconds to set the coating. Let go of the stick and fry until the hot dog is browned on all sides.

Hand-dipped corn dogs satisfy the craving for carnival food when you aren’t able to get to the carnival or state fair to enjoy it. They are also really fun to make!
